Impressions of the ZALKAL Opening Colloquium#

To celebrate the opening of the application laboratory for time-resolved cathodoluminescence spectroscopy, we organized a scientific colloquium on the afternoon of 10.12.2024. Between 1pm and 6pm, there were introductions to the new laboratory from the perspective of the PDI, Thermo Fisher and Delmic, as well as a presentation of initial results. This was complemented by scientific presentations by two of the currently most active scientists in the field of time-resolved cathodoluminescence spectroscopy, Dr. Gwénolé Jacopin (Institut Néel, Grenoble) and Dr. Gunnar Kusch (University of Cambridge), as well as a review of 40 years of time-resolved cathodoluminescence measurements presented by Prof. Jürgen Christen (Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg). Afterwards, there was the opportunity for laboratory tours and an informal exchange among the participants. The colloquium was hybrid and had up to 70 participants (approx. 40 in the seminar room and approx. 30 online). In particular, existing and potential cooperation partners were invited. The feedback was consistently very positive.
